Following ICA 2026 in Japan, the Institut Luxembourgeois des Actuaires (ILAC), together with the IAA Sections, is delighted to welcome you to the Joint Colloquium (JoCo) 2027, which will take place from 19 to 21 May 2027 in Luxembourg under the theme « Actuarial Intelligence: Where Ethics Meets Expertise. »
Who is an actuary ?
Actuaries are discrete but major contributors to the societal role of insurers. From the very beginning, they have developed highly specialized skills across an increasing number of fields to manage risks, model future events, and ensure financial stability.
Beside the complexity of the techniques and algorithms used, the core mission of an actuary remains deeply ethical: how to serve all stakeholders in their best interests?
At JoCo 2027, we focus on the actuary of the future—one who embraces technological developments and technological tools, not just for the beauty of modelling, but to keep humans at the centre of everything we do.
Why Luxembourg ?
Luxembourg is one of the founding members of the EU, situated at the geographical heart of Europe. The country has developed a leading financial centre, becoming Europe’s top hub for investment funds and the second largest in the world, just behind the USA. In the insurance sector, the country ranks 20th globally and has become the European hub for many major international groups in both life and non-life insurance.

From May 19th to 21st, 2027, ILAC has the pleasure to host in Luxembourg the next Joint Colloquium (JoCo) of all International Actuarial Association Sections:

- IAAHS (IAA Health Section)
- IAALS (IAA Life Section)
- IACA (International Association of Consulting Actuaries)
- PBSS (Pensions, Benefits and Social Security Section)

This event will be hosted at the European Convention Centre Luxembourg (ECCL).
Located in the Kirchberg financial district, the venue is just 2 km from the historic city centre of Luxembourg. The Kirchberg plateau is a dynamic area that hosts various European institutions, including:

- The Secretariat of the European Parliament
- The European Investment Bank & the European Investment Fund
- The Council of the European Union & departments of the European Commission
About the hosts
The Joint Colloquium 2027 (JoCo 2027) is jointly hosted by the Institut Luxembourgeois des Actuaires (ILAC) and the Sections of the International Actuarial Association (IAA). Together, they bring local expertise and global perspectives to create a unique international forum for actuarial knowledge, collaboration and professional exchange.
The Institut Luxembourgeois des Actuaires (ILAC) is the professional association representing actuaries in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Founded in 1992, ILAC brings together more than 300 members and plays a key role in promoting and developing the actuarial profession in Luxembourg. Through its Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme and its active involvement within the international actuarial community, ILAC supports excellence and professional growth.
The IAA Sections are international communities of the International Actuarial Association (IAA), bringing together actuaries and professionals from around the world who share interests in specific practice areas and emerging topics. Through conferences, research, publications and professional exchanges, they foster innovation, collaboration and the advancement of actuarial science worldwide. How to access to the European Convention Center Luxembourg ?
Please note that transportation between the hotels and the conference venue is not foreseen by your host, as the 4 recommended hotels are all situated in the Kirchberg area, within easy walking distance of the European Convention Center Luxembourg (ECCL).
Participants choosing to stay in hotels in the city centre or outside of town will need to arrange for their own transportation to the conference venue.
